    The facelifted Hyundai Exter was recently launched in our market, with prices starting from Rs 5.80 lakh (introductory ex-showroom pan-India). Hyundai is selling it in a revised variant lineup: HX 2, HX 3, HX 4, HX 4 Plus, HX 6, HX 8 and HX 10. The updated Exter has now reached some Hyundai dealerships across India. One of the latest videos on the new Exter shows its second-to-top HX 8 variant in detail so let’s check it out:

    Exterior

    In the video, the new Exter seems to be finished in the Titanium Black shade that is on offer with the HX 8 variant.     The HX 8 variant of the new Exter looks identical to the fully loaded HX 10 trim. It also comes with the same set of halogen projector headlights with the ‘H-shaped’ LED DRLs and black finish for the redesigned grille. It also gets a fresh silver-finished skid plate in the bumper.

    You would notice the chunky black cladding all around the SUV along with muscular wheel arches and the ORVM-mounted LED turn indicators. The HX 8 features the new set of 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that is present on the top-spec HX 10 variant. Hyundai also offers black-finished roof rails on this variant which are provided from the mid-spec HX 6 trim onwards.

    Rear

    It’s from the rear as well that you would notice many similarities between the HX 8 and HX 10, starting with the LED tail lights.     Hyundai offers the HX 8 with dual-tone navy blue and grey cabin theme and seat upholstery. That said, it gets semi-fabric upholstery for the seats as prevalent on the HX 10 variant. It’s from the HX 8 variant onwards that the new Exter gets leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob as well as footwell lighting. While the HX 8 trim does get a rear parcel tray, it comes only with the petrol variant. That said, the HX 8 variant misses out on metal pedals, which are available on the HX 10 trim.     In terms of features, the 2026 Hyundai Exter HX 8 is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (without the OTA update support) with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and front and rear speakers. Hyundai also offers the HX 8 variant with push-button start/stop, a single-pane sunroof (available from the mid-spec HX 4 Plus variant), automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, cruise control (petrol-only variant), and paddle shifters (AMT only).

    The safety suite comprises six airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold control, a built-in dashcam, a rear wiper with washer and defogger, and a rear parking camera.
