Maruti e Vitara

• Unlike most of its rivals that get a sleek design, the Maruti e Vitara gets a butch and rugged design. 

• The front features a sleek gloss black plastic panel that merges onto the LED headlights with a Y-shaped DRL insignia. 

• It sits on 18-inch alloy wheels that get sleek aero covers, while plenty of body cladding and a healthy ground clearance give it that SUV look. 

• The muscular rear panels and hidden rear door handles are interesting design details. 

• At the back, the e Vitara’s LED tail lamps with a Y-shaped insignia are connected by a black plastic strip, and it gets a chunky rear bumper as well. 

• The Maruti e Vitara will be offered in 7 colour options: Bluish Black, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Land Breeze Green, Nexa Blue and Opulent Red. The silver, white, red and green colours can be paired with an optional black roof

• The e Vitara gets a modern dashboard design and looks like no other Maruti car that’s on sale today. 

• It gets a dual screen setup, and there are physical controls to operate important functions like the AC.

• Keen eyed viewers will also notice that controls for the power windows and steering wheel are new and not shared with other Maruti cars. 

• The dashboard is finished in a black- brown colour scheme that looks upmarket. 

• While legroom is on par with the segment for rear seat occupants, headroom and underthigh support for tall occupants is in short supply due to a high floorboard. 

Features 

• The Maruti e Vitara gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 10.1-inch digital driver’s display, whose size are on par with some of its rivals. 

• It gets first time features for a Maruti car that includes an 10-speaker Infinity sound system, multi-colour ambient lighting and 10-way powered driver’s seat.

• The e Vitara gets a fixed glass roof, but it’s a smaller single pane unit and not the full length panoramic roof seen in some of its rivals. 

• Lastly, it gets features that are expected in this segment such as ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger and drive modes.

• The Maruti e Vitara is the first Maruti car that is provided with ADAS and 7 airbags. 

• Other safety features onboard include front and rear parking sensors with 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and electronic parking brake with auto hold. 

• The Maruti e Vitara is yet to be crash tested. Expectations are high, though, after the new Dzire became the first ever Maruti car to secure a full 5 star safety rating from Global NCAP.

• The Maruti e Vitara’s boot space capacity is yet to be officially announced, however, it has adequate space for weekend trips. 

• For added flexibility, the rear seats fold down in a 40:20:40 ratio, which gets a thumbs up from us.

• The Maruti e Vitara will be offered with two battery packs: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. 

• The smaller battery pack is paired with a 144 PS e-motor, while the larger one gets a more powerful 174 PS e-motor. Both deliver an identical torque output of 192 Nm. 

• The India-spec model gets only the front-wheel drive option.

• In international markets, there is a dual motor all-wheel drive option available as well. 

• Maruti says the e Vitara is expected to offer a claimed range of over 500 km.

• Based on leaked information, the e Vitara is expected to be offered in three variants: : Delta, Zeta, and Alpha.

• The smaller battery pack is expected to be limited to the base variant only, while the larger battery pack will be offered in the top two variants.
