Nissan Magnite

*ASEAN NCAP

• Nissan Magnite features dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, and ABS with EBD as standard across all variants. 

• The Turbo variants, in addition to the above, come with brake assist, traction control, hill start assist, and electronic stability control. 

• A 360-degree camera and tyre pressure monitoring (TPMS) are available with the top-spec XV Premium. 

• ISOFIX child seat anchors are available as standard from the mid-spec XL Turbo onwards.

• The SUV is priced from Rs 5.49 lakh to Rs 9.39 lakh.

Renault Kiger

• The Kiger comes with four airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a rear parking camera from the second-to-top RXT onwards, priced from Rs 6.89 lakh. 

• It shares its underpinnings with the Nissan Magnite and Triber, both of which scored 4 stars in the crash tests. However, the Renault SUV is yet to be tested. 

• The subcompact SUV retails from Rs 5.64 lakh to Rs 10.08 lakh. 

Hyundai i20 - Up to Asta

• You can only get the Magna, Sportz, and Asta within this budget. 

• It comes with dual front airbags, a burglar alarm, automatic headlamps, a rear parking camera, a driver rear view camera, and TPMS. 

• These features are available from the mid-spec Sportz itself, priced from Rs 7.69 lakh. 

• The top-spec Asta (O) additionally gets ISOFIX child seat anchors, side and curtain airbags, electronic stability control, and hill assist control. However, it is priced upwards of Rs 10 lakh. 

• The Hyundai i20 retails from Rs 6.85 lakh to Rs 11.34 lakh. 

Tata Nexon - Up to the XZ

• In this budget, you can get the XE, XM, XT, and XZ variants only. 

• The top-spec XZ+ (S) and the variants above it additionally get tyre pressure monitoring but are priced upwards of Rs 10 lakh. 

• The Tata Nexon comes with ISOFIX child seat anchors, electronic stability programme, traction control, roll-over mitigation, hydraulic brake assist, and hill hold control right from the base-spec XE variant. 

• Nexon is one of the safest cars in India, securing a 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests. 

• The Nexon retails from Rs 7.19 lakh to Rs 12.95 lakh. 

Mahindra XUV300 - Up to W6

• You can only get the W4 and W6 petrol variants in this budget. 

• The Mahindra XUV300 is the safest car in India, as tested by Global NCAP, where it secured a 5-star safety rating. While the Nexon and XUV300 both got 5 stars, the Mahindra received a better overall score.

• It comes with ISOFIX child seat anchors, cornering control, dual front airbags, and all-wheel disc brakes as standard. 

• The top-spec W8 and W8 (O) get ESP with roll-over mitigation, class-leading seven airbags, hill start assist, front parking sensors, TPMS, and a rear parking camera. However, these are priced above Rs 10 lakh. 

• It retails from Rs 7.95 lakh to 13.09 lakh. 

Volkswagen Polo

• The Polo’s AT variants come with electronic stability control and hill hold control. These are priced from Rs 8.51 lakh. 

• It misses out on a rear parking camera but that’s an accessory most dealers will be happy to provide.

• The Polo retails from Rs 6.16 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh. 

Hyundai Venue - Up to SX

• Only the Venue’s E, S, S+, and select SX variants are available under Rs 10 lakh. 

• It gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard. 

• The Venue offers electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, and hill assist control in the S DCT (provided with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic) priced from Rs 9.77 lakh. 

• The S+ variant, while missing out on the features mentioned above, has on offer automatic headlamps and a rear parking camera. It is priced from Rs 8.54 lakh. 

• The top-spec variants additionally get side and curtain airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, and a burglar alarm. Unfortunately, they’re priced north of Rs 10 lakh. 

• The Hyundai Venue retails from Rs 6.92 lakh to Rs 11.76 lakh. 

MG Astor - Base Style Variant

• The Astor is the only compact SUV to make it to the list. 

• Even its base variant gets traction control, hill hold/descent control, and all-wheel disc brakes as standard fitment. 

• The top-spec variants get up to six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control. 

• The MG Astor's top-spec Savvy variant also features ADAS (advanced assistance driving system) which further gets adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, high-beam assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, front collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.

• The SUV retails from Rs 9.78 lakh to Rs 17.38 lakh.
