If you are in the market seeking a hatchback today, chances are you would be shortlisting at least one of the four available premium hatchbacks in India. The Maruti Baleno, with over 12,500 units sales, was the highest-selling premium hatchback in July 2025. It witnessed the highest growth in the segment of 34 percent in its YoY sales, while its MoM figure increased by 39 percent.

Next in line was the Baleno’s cousin, the Toyota Glanza, with more than 5,000 unit sales. The Toyota hatchback saw a rise of a mammoth 71 percent in its MoM numbers, while its YoY figure grew by a nominal 4 percent.
