Along with more powertrain options that are expected to return a higher fuel efficiency, the 2025 Altroz will also get some premium amenities over the i20
The 2025 Tata Altroz facelift is going to be launched soon and will be offered in five broad trims: Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S and Accomplished Plus S. The facelifted hatchback is expected to be priced from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Hyundai i20. While we have already detailed what the 2025 Altroz will get over Baleno and Glanza, here’s a list of 5 things it will offer over the Hyundai i20.
More Powertrain Options
While the Hyundai i20 comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, the 2025 Tata Altroz will get two more powertrain choices in addition to a comparable 1.2-litre NA petrol unit. Here are the details:

^CVT = Continuously variable automatic transmission
As seen in the table, the naturally aspirated petrol variants of both rivals are almost on par with each other. However, the 2025 Altroz also gets a CNG and diesel option, both of which are not offered with the Hyundai i20. Notably, the Tata Altroz is the only mass-market hatchback to get a diesel engine.
That said, if you want a sportier iteration of the i20, Hyundai offers the i20 N Line, which gets a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and some mechanical enhancements for a more involving drive. It remains to be seen if the Tata Altroz Racer with the 120 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine gets the facelift treatment or not.
Fully Digital Driver’s Display
A new feature that has made it to the facelifted Tata Altroz is a segment-first 10.25-inch digital driver’s display that has been borrowed from the bigger Tata Nexon SUV. Like the Tata sub-compact SUV, this screen can also show navigation and the blind spot monitor that uses the 360-degree camera feed. In comparison, the Hyundai rival offers a semi-digital driver’s display.
360-degree Camera With Blind Spot Monitor
The Tata Altroz, right from its pre-facelift model, featured a 360-degree camera with a blind spot monitor. This feature is also provided in the facelifted Altroz, the only difference is that the blind spot monitor is displayed on the digital driver’s display now, which makes it more convenient while driving. In contrast, the Hyundai i20 gets a rear view camera only.

Flush-type Door Handles
Another new feature the 2025 Altroz introduces to the premium hatchback segment is the flush-type door handles with illumination, which are provided on the front doors and make it look very premium and modern. However, the rear door handles are integrated in the C-pillars like the pre-facelifted model. The Hyundai i20, on the other hand, gets regular pull-type door handles in all the 4 doors.
Connected LED Tail Lights
While the i20 features sleek-looking LED tail lights, they are not connected by a lightbar, but a plastic trim with a chrome accent. The 2025 Altroz facelift gets a connected LED tail light setup that makes it look very futuristic and gives a clean look to the hatchback’s rear design. Notably, all variants of the Altroz get LED tail lights, but the connecting light bar is being offered from the one-below-top Accomplished trim.
Bonus- Rear Centre Armrest
While the Tata Altroz was always offered with a rear centre armrest, Tata has now integrated two cupholders in it to give more storage options to the rear seat passengers. In contrast, the Hyundai rival does not get any centre armrest for the rear passengers.
