Nissan Tekton

Nissan has confirmed that its upcoming Creta-rivalling compact SUV will be called the ‘Tekton’. The automaker also revealed the exterior design of the SUV which takes inspiration from the brand’s flagship SUV, the Nissan Patrol. 

Note that the Nissan Tekton will be manufactured in India for both domestic and international markets. It will make its global debut on February 4, 2026 and is expected to be launched in India by the second quarter of 2026.

Nissan is yet to clearly reveal the design of the Tekton compact SUV, however, we still got a glimpse of how it looks. The Japanese carmaker has confirmed that this design of the Tekton is production ready. You will notice that the overall proportion and design is similiar to the upcoming Renault Duster.

At first sight, it looks like a baby Nissan Patrol thanks to its imposing front grille along with connected LED DRLs and C-shaped LED headlights. It also gets a chunky bumper with a massive skid plate and lots of creases for a rugged look. There’s also a ‘TEKTON’ badging on the hood for the added presence. 

Moving to the side, it has an SUV silhouette and a tapered rear glass panel which looks inspired from that of the Patrol. It rides on dual-tone alloy wheels and the rear door handles are hidden giving it a 3-door look. There’s also a trim on the front door which Nissan says is inspired from the Himalayas. 

At the rear, it gets C-shaped connected LED tail lights and chunkier bumper which enhances its overall SUV look. Interested in knowing more details about the Nissan Tekton? Check out this story. 

While Nissan didn’t show us the full cabin of the Tekton, we still got a sneak peek of it from which we can easily make out that it gets a multi-layered dashboard design. There's a gloss black panel accentuated by copper accents which runs along its width, giving it a premium look.

Features

The Tekton, considering that it is going to slot in the hotly contested compact SUV segment, is expected to come with a long list of features. We expect it to have  amenities like a big touchscreen, fully digital driver’s display, auto AC, ambient lighting, a premium sound system, ventilated front seats with powered functionality for the driver, wireless smartphone charger, push button engine start/stop, and a panoramic sunroof.

The passenger safety kit could include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Nissan has yet not disclosed the overall dimensions, including the boot space, for the Tekton compact SUV. However, we expect it to offer a practical boot enough to accommodate luggage for weekend roadtrips.

We expect the Nissan Tekton to come with multiple powertrain options, including a possible hybrid option. Both manual and automatic transmission options are expected to be offered with the Nissan Tekton.

Nissan has yet not disclosed the variant details for the Tekton, however, we expect it to have a starting price of Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).
