    The overall premium hatchback segment in India saw a 15 percent month-on-month (MoM) drop in sales in June 2025. The Maruti Baleno retained its top spot, while the Tata Altroz climbed up the ranks post the introduction of its facelift.     • With nearly 9,000 units sold in June 2025, the Maruti Baleno continued to be the best-selling premium hatchback. However, its MoM sales dropped by 23 percent, and it also witnessed a steep 40 percent year-on-year (YoY) decline.

    • Tata Altroz emerged as the only model in the segment to post a sales growth in June 2025. There is no doubt the recently introduced facelift has given it a boost.  It registered sales of nearly 4,000 units, which was a 43 percent increase over May 2025 and a slight 1 percent rise compared to June 2024.

    Hyundai i20

    • Hyundai dispatched close to 3,800 units of the i20 in June 2025, marking a 7 percent MoM drop. Its YoY numbers also saw a 29 percent decline.

    Toyota Glanza

    • Toyota Glanza recorded sales of under 3,000 units, resulting in a sharp 38 percent MoM drop, the highest in the segment. It also posted a 29 percent decline in YoY sales.
