Hyundai i20 N Line To To Be Available In 1 DCT And 2 iMT Variants

• The Hyundai i20 N Line will be available in N6 iMT, N8 iMT and N8 DCT variants.

• These variants could be based on the Sportz, Asta and Asta (O) variants.

• To get a more aggressive design along with some tweaks of the cabin.

• It will be offered with the 120PS 1-litre petrol engine, while tweaks to the suspension and gearing ratios are also expected.

Hyundai N Line series is making a debut in India this September, starting with the i20. While it won’t be the full blown out 204PS i20N, but just with a sportier styling and some mechanical tweaks.

The Hyundai i20 N Line will be available in three variants: N6 iMT, N8 iMT and N8 DCT. The N6 and N8 variants are expected to be based on Sportz and Asta variants respectively. The top-spec N8 DCT could be based on the Asta (O).

Going by the latest teaser, the Hyundai i20 N Line will get a new grille, a new sportier bumper, side skirts, and possibly new alloy wheels. It should also get a twin-tip exhaust, a sportier rear diffuser design and a new rear bumper. And don’t forget the sporty ‘N’ branding over the body.

The new i20 N Line will also see some sportier changes made inside the cabin. While the turbo variants already get an all-black interior with red accents, the N Line could further get metal pedals and an exclusive badging.

Features onboard will include up to six airbags, a touchscreen infotainment system, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control (only for DCT), LED projector headlamps, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rear parking camera, electric sunroof, and cruise control.

Under the hood, the i20 N Line will continue with the 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine paired to a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) and 7-speed DCT. It could also get a reworked suspension setup and altered gearing ratios for improved dynamics.

The N Line variants are expected to demand a premium over the i20 Turbo’s current price range of Rs 8.81 lakh to Rs 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It would be a direct rival to the Volkswagen Polo GT and Tata Altroz i-Turbo.
