The Tesla Model Y has been launched at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in two variants: Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive. It comes with one standard exterior paint and one interior theme, while additional options are available at an extra cost. 

    Bookings for the Model Y are now open, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025. Here’s a closer look at everything the first Tesla in India has to offer.

    The standard rear-wheel drive variant of the Tesla Model Y is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh, while the long-range version costs Rs 8 lakh more. It must be noted that the full-self-driving option of the Model Y commands Rs 6 lakh extra over these prices.

    The Tesla Model Y has a minimalist front with a blanked-off face. It features sleek LED DRLS connected by a light bar, while the headlights are located in a separate housing below, all of which gives it a clean and modern look. The front bumper is sculpted with subtle lines and air dams.

    From the side, the Model Y has a crossover-like silhouette with a gently sloping roofline that merges into the tailgate. The flush door handles give it a minimal look. It sits on 19-inch all-black alloy wheels. It comes in a standard Stealth Grey colour, while other options like Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Glacier Blue, Quick Silver, and Ultra Red are available at an extra cost of up to Rs 1.85 lakh, depending on the hue you pick.

    The interior of the Tesla Model Y follows a very clean and minimalist design with an all-black cabin theme. It is also available with a dual-tone black and white cabin theme for an extra cost of Rs 95,000. The dashboard is simple and flat, with a soft-touch finish and a single horizontal line of ambient lighting running across its width. There are no physical buttons or dials as everything is controlled through the large 15.4-inch touchscreen in the centre. It gets a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls.

    The centre console is wide and neatly designed, with covered storage compartments and a wireless charging pad. The rear seats are also reclinable and the rear passengers can make use of a separate 8-inch touchscreen for entertainment as well as rear AC vents.

    The Tesla Model Y comes packed with features like a large 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment, ventilated and heated front seats, and even power-reclining seats in the second row for added comfort. Rear passengers also get their own 8-inch screen, and the cabin is equipped with a 9-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, an air purifier, a wireless phone charger, connected car tech and even a powered bonnet for hands-free access to the frunk.     On the safety front, it offers multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a built-in dashcam. You can also opt for Tesla’s full ADAS suite, but that will cost an additional Rs 6 lakh.
