Porsche Launches Macan Turbo With Performance Package At Rs 1.40 Crore

If you just bought a Porsche Macan Turbo you may want to stop reading this. The German automaker's baby-SUV has just received a new range-topper with introduction of the 'Performance Package' equipped Macan Turbo at a price of Rs 1.40 crore (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). Let's take a look at what's new.

The Performance Package begins by uprating the Macan Turbo's 3.6-litre, twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. Power output goes up from 400PS to 440PS, while the peak torque goes up from 550Nm to a chunky 600Nm. The result? 0-100kmph comes up in 4.4 seconds (0.4 quicker than the standard Turbo) and the top speed goes up from 266kmph to 272kmph. In-gear acceleration improves as well and in ‘Sport Plus' mode, the time taken to accelerate from 80kmph to 120kmph drops to 2.9 seconds (a reduction of 0.2 seconds).

However, the changes aren't limited to the powertrain alone. The steel spring suspension is lowered by 15mm and gets adaptive dampers for improved stability. The Performance Package also includes larger brakes with 390mm discs up front (30mm larger than the standard Turbo) and 356mm discs at the rear.

The SUV also gets the Sport Chrono Package with a custom exhaust system as standard. In Sport Plus mode, this package alters the behaviour of the chassis, engine, transmission and exhaust for a stiffer ride, improved throttle sensitivity, sharper gear changes from the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a more titillating note from the tail pipes.

Features in the package include 21-inch Porsche 911 Turbo design wheels with lateral spokes painted in gloss black, LED headlights and numerous elements finished in black. On the inside, the Turbo interior package offers black leather upholstery with Alcantara elements and carbon bits such as the door entry guards with the model logo lit up in white.
