Last week, the Indian car market saw many interesting updates filled with launches, spy shots, teasers, a sales milestone and other news. While Kia revealed the name of its new MPV, MG has teased the updated Windsor EV. Meanwhile, luxury automakers like Lamborghini and Range Rover launched their new products. Here’s all that mattered in the past week.

Kia Clavis Teased

Kia has finally released an official video teaser of its new MPV which will be called the Clavis. The teaser offers a glimpse of its exterior design while hinting at a few new features it will offer. It is set to debut on May 8 and will be sold alongside the existing Carens MPV. Unofficial bookings for the Clavis are already open at select dealerships.

2025 MG Windsor EV Pro Teased

MG Motor India has officially teased the upcoming Windsor EV’s Pro variant that will get six key updates. Alongside other hinted updates, it will also bring a larger 50.6 kWh battery to the Indian market. We already spotted its test mule using its new Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology to power an external appliance.

India-spec Volkswagen Golf GTI Features Revealed

Volkswagen India has revealed the highlight features of the upcoming Golf GTI ahead of its expected launch later this month. The performance-oriented hatchback will be brought in through the CBU route and will be equipped with a 265 PS 2-litre turbo petrol engine. Volkswagen has also revealed its official pre-launch bookings and delivery details.

Hyundai i10 Nameplate Achieved A Milestone

Hyundai’s popular ‘i10’ nameplate has recorded over 3 million sales globally, across its three generations, in its 18 years of presence. The majority of sales have come from India. This Hyundai hatchback is currently the carmaker’s entry-level offering on our shores and is sold as the Grand i10 Nios.

A Mahindra Thar Version Is Now Discontinued

While the carmaker has yet to announce this officially, our dealership sources suggested that Mahindra will no longer be selling the Thar with the soft-top roof. This means that the popular Thar 3-door will now only be available with a hard-top roof. There have been no other significant changes made to the SUV.

Over 50,000 Volkswagen And Skoda Cars Recalled

Volkswagen and Skoda have collectively recalled five of their made-in-India cars over a potential safety risk for rear passengers. While there has been no official announcement yet, the SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) data indicates that over 50,000 units have been affected. The recalled models include the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus as well as Skoda Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia.

2025 BYD Seal Prices Announced

The MY 2025 BYD Seal’s prices have been announced this week. While the starting price remains unchanged, the mid and top variant prices got hiked by Rs 15,000. As part of this model year update, the Seal sedan also gets some variant-specific upgrades like rear sunshades, an improved AC unit, and a new suspension system.

Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Launched

This is the first time that the Range Rover Evoque has got a premium Autobiography touch in India. It gets new cosmetic touches, updated LED headlights as well as added features too. With that, the new variant holds a premium of Rs 1.5 lakh over the Dynamic SE variant which has now been discontinued.

Lamborghini Temerario Launched

The Lamborghini Temerario has been launched in India. It replaces the outgone Huracan and is powered by a 4-litre twin turbo V8 engine paired with triple electric motors powered by a 3.8 kWh battery. Alongside tremendous performance, the Temerario also brings a feature-rich cabin with heated and ventilated seats, triple screens and more. Any guesses, how much is it priced at?

Maruti e Vitara Launch Timeline Out

It's been a while since the Maruti e Vitara was last seen at the Auto Expo 2025. You'll have to wait a little longer, as Maruti has announced that the prices of the e Vitara will be revealed by the end of September this year. The brand has also confirmed the arrival of a new car by the end of the year, which we expect to be the 7-seater version of a popular compact SUV.
