Nissan Gravite
The Nissan Gravite has been launched in India as the badge-engineered version of the Renault Triber. You do get different styling elements and it retains the core fundamentals of the Triber, which is its practical cabin. The Gravite gets the 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will also be available in a dual-CNG option very soon.

Nissan Gravite expert overview
Overview
The Nissan Gravite, which is essentially the rebadged version of the Renault Triber, marks Nissan’s entry into the affordable MPV segment in India. It offers a similar recipe, but with Nissan-specific exterior styling and a refreshed interior scheme. Prices of the Nissan Gravite start from Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Gravite aims to attract buyers seeking a spacious vehicle in a sub-4 metre footprint that can carry up to 7 passengers, while also not being as expensive as some of India's larger and more popular MPVs. Bookings are underway and deliveries are expected to commence shortly.
Exterior
The Gravite looks noticeably distinct from the Renault Triber, making it look more than just a rebadged version. However, it continues to get a similar subcompact MPV-like silhouette that we are familiar with, thanks to the Triber.

Up front, a honeycomb-pattern grille takes centre stage, complemented by bold ‘GRAVITE’ lettering on the bonnet. The sleek LED DRLs are connected by a chrome strip, lending a wider stance, while C-shaped silver surrounds for the fog lamps and a chunky bumper give it a slightly rugged appeal.

From the side, the silhouette remains largely identical to the Triber, including the window line, roof rails, and door design. However, the Nissan Gravite differentiates it with a fresh set of 15-inch stylised steel wheels that add a bit more flair. Blacked-out ORVMs and roof rails give it a sporty touch.

At the rear, the Gravite features wraparound LED tail lamps connected by a chrome strip, along with prominent GRAVITE lettering on the tailgate. The C-shaped silver accents on the rear bumper mirror the front design, giving the MPV a slightly butch look. These subtle but impactful changes set it apart from the Triber MPV. If you want a more detailed breakdown of its design, you can check that in our image gallery.
Nissan is offering the Gravite facelift in as many as 5 colour options: Forest Green, Onyx Black, Metallic Grey, Blade Silver and Storm White.
Interior
While Nissan has done a good job of differentiating the exteriors, Nissan has taken a slight backward approach with the interior. That’s because the Gravite relies on the pre-facelift Triber’s dashboard layout, refreshed with a new colour scheme and trim inserts. Nevertheless, it continues to be practical and all controls are placed where you need them.

The Gravite continues with a flexible three-row layout. It is offered as a 7-seater, and thanks to the modular seating, it can also be configured as a 5- or 6-seater depending on your needs. The second row features sliding and reclining functionality, allowing you to prioritise either legroom or boot space. As expected from a family-focused MPV, the cabin offers multiple storage spaces and decent comfort for occupants.
Overall, the cabin scores well in terms of practicality and functionality. The material quality does not shout premiumness, but won’t disappoint buyers in this segment. The good mix of displays and physical buttons for all the important functions is also something that we appreciate.
Features
The Gravite comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a 7-inch fully digital driver’s display, manual air conditioning with rear vents, JBL sound system, a wireless phone charger, and push-button start/stop. The overall feature list feels adequate for its price bracket and should satisfy most buyers in this segment.

However, feel-good features such as a sunroof, automatic climate control, and a branded sound system are not offered, which some rivals in higher price brackets do provide.
Safety
One of the key highlights of the Gravite is the inclusion of six airbags as standard across variants. In addition, it comes with a dash camera, electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and rear parking sensors with a camera.

With these safety features onboard, the Gravite covers all the essential bases for a family MPV in the sub-4m category. Global NCAP had crash tested the Renault Triber (the Gravite’s donor car) in 2021 when it received a 4-star safety rating. However, it later got a poor 2-star rating when tested for the market in South Africa with stricter norms.
Boot Space
Practicality remains one of Gravite’s biggest strengths. With all three rows up, boot space is limited, suitable for a couple of small bags. However, the third row seats can be folded and even removed entirely, freeing up a large amount of luggage space of up to around 625 litres.

The second row also folds down, allowing you to maximise luggage capacity when needed. Thanks to the split-folding configurations, the Gravite offers multiple seating and luggage combinations, making it versatile for both daily errands and long trips. Compared to other cars in the same price category, the Gravite’s luggage carrying capacity is second to none.
Performance
Similar to the Triber, Nissan has offered the same 1-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with the Gravite. This engine comes paired with either a manual or an AMT. Here’s a look at the specifications:
| Parameters | Specifications |
| Engine | 1-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol |
| Power (PS) | 72 PS |
| Torque (Nm) | 96 Nm |
| Transmission Options | 5-speed MT / 5-speed AMT |
Nissan also allows buyers to retrofit this engine with a twin-cylinder CNG kit (that still occupies most of the boot with all rows up) at a dealership level. The CNG option comes only with the manual transmission.

We’re yet to drive the Nissan Gravite. However, based on our experience after driving the Triber with the same engine, we can confirm that this engine’s performance is just about sufficient and won’t provide you with any sort of thrill. Performance within the city is average, and one would need to plan overtakes on the highways, especially with a full load.
Variants
The Nissan Gravite is offered in 5 broad variants: Visia Plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Limited Launch Edition (limited to 1,001 units).

- Value For Money Product For Low Budget FamilyAccording to price, its value for the money but engine is little less powerful as per 1.0 liter engine. It should generate at least 90bhp for a 7 seater vehicle. When you travel with 7 people and with some lugage in hilly areas definatly get low power and vehicle willl struggle.
