GST Effect: Hyundai Drops Prices By Up To Rs 3.72 Lakh

Simplified tax structure helps Hyundai price select variants of the Creta and the Verna Rs 1 lakh lesser than before
Since the implementation of the Goods and Service Tax (GST), we’ve been waiting for Hyundai to announce the revised prices of their popular hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs. On Thursday, the Korean car manufacturer finally revealed the new prices for their entire model range. Better late than never, right? It’s important to note that unlike Skoda, Nissan or other luxury car brands in India, the prices for Hyundai cars still vary from city to city. However, the ex-showroom price difference between cities is now quite narrow.

Various taxes (excise duty, value added tax, different cesses, etc) have been replaced by GST and the impact for the automotive industry has been largely positive. The price change varies from city to city and the degree of GST’s impact increases as you move towards more expensive car segments.
