When the Maruti Suzuki Victoris arrived a year ago, it promised to be the SUV that has it all: bold design, a tech-rich cabin, top-tier safety and a powertrain for every kind of buyer. Indian buyers took that promise to heart. In just 12 months, the Victoris set sales records that no new car in India had managed before, and it collected the country’s most prestigious automotive awards along the way.
To mark that golden first year, Maruti Suzuki has launched the Victoris Aurum Edition. It is a celebratory special edition offered exclusively on the strong hybrid, with an exclusive copper-and-chrome styling kit priced at Rs 22,990. Maruti presents it as a thank-you to the customers who made the Victoris a success, and as an invitation to those still deciding. Here’s everything you need to know.
A Debut Year For The Record Books
Few cars can claim a first year like the one the Victoris has had. It set the record for the highest number of cars sold in the first year by any new model in India’s passenger vehicle category. It is also the fastest passenger vehicle in the country to cross both the 1 lakh and 1.5 lakh sales milestones. All three claims are certified by JATO Dynamics.
The awards followed just as quickly. The Victoris was named Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2026, and it picked up Car of the Year honours from many automotive publications as well as independent juries, making it one of the most awarded vehicles of 2026. It also became the first Maruti SUV to earn 5-star crash test ratings from both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP.

Taken together, these numbers tell a clear story. The Victoris has become the step-up SUV of choice for buyers who want more than the mainstream, without giving up the reliability and peace of mind that come with a Maruti Suzuki.
Why “Aurum”?
Aurum is Latin for gold, a fitting name for an SUV that has had a golden debut. The edition stays true to the Victoris brand philosophy of confident, contemporary design for accomplished buyers whose style gets noticed without needing to shout. Rather than reinventing the Victoris, the Aurum Edition adds tasteful detailing that makes a well-loved SUV feel even more special.
What All Does The Aurum Kit Include?
The Victoris Aurum Edition kit brings together 13 genuine accessories, chosen to give the SUV a distinctive look while adding everyday practicality. Ten of them are on the outside.

The grey skid plates with copper-coloured inserts at the front, sides and rear define the Aurum identity, while matching wheel arch garnishes carry the copper theme around the body. Chrome garnishes for the front grille, upper bumpers, fenders and body sides add a touch of polish, and door visors with a dark chrome insert combine style with practicality during the monsoon.
The remaining three items protect the cabin. All-weather 3D floor mats shield the interior from dirt and water, a 3D boot mat protects the luggage area, and a rear trunk sill guard prevents scuffs when loading and unloading. Together, they help the Victoris look as good inside as it does outside, long after the first drive.
The biggest highlight, though, is the value. Bought individually, these 13 accessories would cost Rs 29,318. As part of the Aurum kit, they come for Rs 22,990, a saving of Rs 6,328, or about 21.6 percent.
Design: Copper Accents, Chrome Highlights
The Victoris measures 4,360 mm long, 1,795 mm wide and 1,655 mm tall, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase.

Those proportions give it genuine road presence, while a tight 5.4-metre turning radius keeps it easy to manoeuvre in crowded city streets and parking lots. It also gets a 45-litre fuel tank, which pairs well with the hybrid’s efficiency for long trips between fill-ups.
The Victoris already has one of the sharpest designs in Maruti’s line-up. Its chiselled, upright face carries bold-cut LED DRLs and LED projector headlamps above a muscular bonnet, and the wrap-around silhouette sits on 17-inch aero-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, a full-width segmented LED tail lamp gives the SUV a signature look that’s instantly recognisable on the road.

The Aurum Edition builds on that base with a dedicated styling kit. Its centrepiece is a set of grey skid plates with copper-coloured inserts that frame the SUV from every angle, running across the front bumper, along both sides and across the rear.

Matching copper inserts on the wheel arches tie the theme together. The effect is premium and distinctive, and it looks particularly striking against the two launch colours, Mystic Green and Bluish Black.

Chrome garnishes complement the copper, highlighting the front grille, the upper sections of the front and rear bumpers, the fenders and the body sides. Door visors with a dark chrome insert round off the exterior, adding a practical touch on rainy days. Inside, the kit adds all-weather 3D cabin mats, a 3D boot mat and a rear trunk sill guard. These may not grab headlines, but they keep the cabin and boot looking new for longer, which matters for families, frequent travellers and anyone driving through Indian monsoons.
Interior: Gold Inside, Copper Outside
Step inside and the Aurum theme carries through naturally. Strong hybrid versions of the Victoris already come with an all-black cabin accented with gold highlights, a rich colour scheme that pairs well with the copper detailing outside.
The cabin is among the best-designed Maruti has ever made. A layered three-tier dashboard with gloss black elements anchors the design, while leatherette upholstery and soft-touch padding on the dashboard and doors lift the sense of quality. You also get 64-colour ambient lighting, which lets you set the mood for every drive.

Space is another strength. Rear passengers get generous legroom and some of the best under-thigh support in the segment, while those up front benefit from a sliding armrest and plenty of storage. Front and rear occupants both get USB Type-C charging, so no one has to fight over the charger on a long trip.
Tech: Hyper-Connected, Always In Sync
The Victoris was built for buyers who live online, and its tech package reflects that. At the centre of the dashboard sits the 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen, Maruti’s largest screen yet. It runs a slick new interface with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and its in-built app store offers more than 35 apps. Alexa Auto voice AI handles over 40 functions, so you can stay connected without taking your hands off the wheel. For audio, an 8-speaker Infinity by Harman system with Dolby Atmos turns the cabin into a concert hall.

A 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display with customisable layouts keeps key information clear, and a head-up display puts it right in your line of sight. Next-gen Suzuki Connect with e-Call keeps you linked to the car even when you’re away from it. From your phone or smartwatch, you can lock and unlock the doors, switch on the hazard lights, and check the battery health and headlight status. Suzuki Connect also monitors cabin air quality through its PM2.5 sensor and runs a driving leaderboard that lets you share your achievements with friends and family.

Comfort And Convenience
The Victoris makes everyday driving genuinely easy. It offers keyless entry and push-button start, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, cruise control, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. A cooled wireless phone charger keeps your device from overheating, and a powered tailgate opens with a simple gesture when your hands are full. Ventilated front seats, an 8-way powered driver’s seat and auto-folding ORVMs add a layer of luxury, while a panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with light.

Ride quality is a highlight. The suspension absorbs potholes and broken roads with ease, so the Victoris is as comfortable on rough city streets as it is on long highway runs.
Performance: The Strong Hybrid Advantage
The Aurum Edition is available only with the Victoris’ most advanced powertrain, the 1.5-litre strong hybrid. It pairs a three-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and a battery pack for a combined output of 116 PS and 141 Nm. Power goes to the front wheels through a smooth eCVT, and Eco, Normal and Power drive modes let you tailor the experience to the road ahead.

The system is self-charging, so there’s no plugging in; you simply fill petrol as usual. At city speeds, the Victoris can glide along in pure EV mode, silently and without using any fuel. When you need to overtake, the electric motor delivers instant torque for a quick, confident surge. Because the eCVT has no gears to shift, progress stays jerk-free, which makes stop-go traffic far less tiring.

The headline figure is a very impressive claimed fuel efficiency of 28.65 kmpl, which translates into fewer fuel stops and lower running costs. For buyers who care about sustainability, it also means a smaller carbon footprint without any range anxiety.
Safety: 5 Stars, No Compromise
The Victoris is one of the safest SUVs in its class, and the Aurum Edition carries over the full safety package. Six airbags come as standard, along with ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, traction control, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors and rear parking sensors. Tyre pressure monitoring, a rearview camera and an auto-dimming IRVM add further reassurance. A 360-degree HD camera with 11 views and a blind view monitor works with front parking sensors that activate the camera automatically, making tight spaces far less stressful.

Underneath it all is the Suzuki TECT platform, built with high-strength steel. That platform is the foundation of the Victoris’ 5-star ratings from both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP.
The Face Of Aurum: Shahid Kapoor
For the Aurum Edition, Maruti Suzuki has partnered with Shahid Kapoor, one of Indian cinema’s most versatile stars, known for his distinctive style and appetite for new experiences. He reflects the audience the Victoris was designed for: young, ambitious, tech-savvy Indians who refuse to compromise and want it all.
