The diesel-powered Kia Carens Clavis gets a smaller single-pane sunroof, while the naturally aspirated petrol variant doesn’t get this feature
While unveiling the 2025 Kia Carens Clavis, the carmaker has revealed the variant-wise features that will be offered with the premium MPV. A keen look at the variant-wise feature distribution will show that a panoramic sunroof, which is a first for the Carens nameplate, will only be available with the turbo-petrol variants of the Clavis.
If you opt for the diesel engine, you will have to be content with a smaller single-pane sunroof. The naturally aspirated petrol variants of the Clavis doesn’t come with a sunroof as it isn’t offered with the higher variants.
Which Variants Is A Sunroof Available?
The Kia Carens Clavis will be available in 7 broad variants: HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX Plus. Amongst this, only the higher-spec HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX Plus variants get a sunroof.
The HTK Plus (O) gets a single-pane sunroof for both the turbo-petrol and diesel engine options. Notably, it will be the most affordable variant with this sought-after amenity in the entire Kia Carens Clavis range.

The distinction between a turbo-petrol and diesel engine option is clear in the HTX variant. It is because Kia is offering a panoramic sunroof with the turbo-petrol variants, but has equipped the diesel trims with the same single-pane sunroof as the HTK Plus (O).
The fully-loaded HTX Plus variant only gets a turbo-petrol engine option, and like the previous variant, it features a panoramic sunroof.
This means that Kia has reserved the panoramic sunroof in the Kia Carens Clavis for just the turbo-petrol engine. Notably, the naturally aspirated engine option is available in the lower variants and hence it does not get any sunroof option.
Other Features Offered With The Kia Carens Clavis
The Kia Carens Clavis, along with a panoramic sunroof, will come with dual 12.3-inch screens (one for the infotainment system and another for the driver’s display), an 8-speaker Bose sound system, 4-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats and sunshades for the middle row passengers.
Its safety suite features 6 airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, disc brake on all wheels, front and rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. It also gets a Level-2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) with features including lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.
