While the Compass SUV has received multiple special editions here in India, a noteworthy generational update remains overdue since its last facelift in 2021
The third-generation Jeep Compass has been globally revealed in both petrol-hybrid and EV versions. The updated 2025 Compass is meant for the European markets for now. It gets an updated exterior design, an upmarket interior and additional features. While there is no official confirmation of the new Compass and Compass EV’s India debut yet, we reckon this update can roll down to the Indian market sometime in 2026.
So, let’s take a look at five key aspects of the 2025 Compass.
Design
The new 2025 Jeep Compass gets a design overhaul compared to its second-gen model which is currently sold in India. It looks more boxy and rugged now.
Upfront, it sports Jeep’s signature seven-slat grille which is tweaked and closed-off for a more sleeker appearance. It also gets illumination within. It gets rectangular LED headlights with vertical LED DRLs at its two edges. The bumper now gets a thick black cladding which adds ruggedness to its look.

On the side profile, the 2025 Compass sits on new 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. It also gets a body cladding now, that continues over the wheel arches. It also gets pull-type door handles, blacked-out outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) as well as roof rails. There’s a similar ‘COMPASS’ lettering over the front doors like before.
At the rear, the taillights are placed in a separate blacked-out housing which also encloses the number plate. The connected taillights also get an illuminated ‘Jeep’ logo at the centre. The bumper looks more aggressive now with a grey skid plate adding some contrast to it. The new Compass gets 550-litre boot space, which is 45-litre larger than the second-gen.
Interior
The interior of the 2025 Compass looks more upmarket with an all-black cabin theme. It gets a layered dashboard which gets a thick silver accent across its width.
It has a large 16-inch infotainment display at its centre, a 3-spoke steering wheel and sleek horizontal AC vents towards the edges. There’s a chunky red and a rotary dial at the centre console apart from usable storage spaces. A big panoramic sunroof overhead also gives the dark cabin an airy feel.
Features & Safety
Besides, the infotainment and sunroof, the 2025 Jeep Compass is equipped with features such as a 10.1-inch digital driver display, a wireless phone charger and connected car tech. It should also continue with its dual-zone auto AC, ventilated seats, 8-way power adjustable driver seat with memory function and powered tailgate.
For safety, the new Compass gets level-2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera. Besides, it should also carry other essentials like six airbags, hill descend control, tyre pressure monitoring system and electronic parking brake with auto hold.
Powertrain
The 2025 Jeep Compass has two-hybrid and one all-electric powertrain option in Europe. The specifications of its hybrid powertrain options are as follows:

The Compass EV also supports DC fast charging which uses a 160 kW charger to power up its battery from 20 to 80 percent in 30 minutes. It also gets a 22 kW AC home charger.
Expected India Launch & Rivals
The 2025 Jeep Compass is already on sale across major European markets, with deliveries slated to begin in Q4 of 2025. While there’s no official confirmation on its India launch yet, Jeep could potentially bring the updated Compass to our shores by late 2026, provided it addresses production costs in India.
If that happens, the third-gen Compass could pose a stronger challenge to rivals like the Hyundai Tucson and its Stellantis sibling, the Citroen C5 Aircross. The current Jeep Compass in India is priced between Rs 18.99 lakh and Rs 32.41 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).
