The Mahindra XUV700 Is Selling Twice As Much As Its Rivals
Average sales of Harrier + Safari = XUV700
The Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most popular SUVs today and thankfully, its waiting period is also reducing with time. It rivals the likes of the Tata Harrier, Safari, Hector, and Hector Plus and in terms of sales, it performs much better than all of them.

XUV700’s average six-month sales are close to 5,000 units a month. With that, it is the segment leader here and continues with popularity even after being on sale for almost a year.

Its sales are almost double that of Harrier, which averages around 2,800 units a month.

The sales of Harrier and Safari combined are somewhat close to that of the XUV700.

The Hector and Hector Plus, combined, report an average sale of around 2,000 units a month.
The commonalities here are the multiple seating configurations. While the XUV700 offers only five and seven seats, the Hector and Harrier have five seats and the Hector Plus and Safari have the option of six and seven seats.

The XUV700 gets multiple powertrains, including turbo-petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic transmissions. There’s also the all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) option with the top-spec diesel auto, which is a segment-exclusive feature. The Harrier and Safari do not get petrol engines and there are no diesel-auto with the MG cars.
The XUV700’s biggest standout is the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), which includes emergency autonomous braking and lane keeping assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera. The facelifted Hector will get this radar-based safety technology as well, and it will launch post-Diwali.
