    Force Motors postpone SUV launch

    Pune based manufacturing UV maker has postponed the launch of its novice SUV. To be earlier launched in March, it will now see the light of day in May. As revealed by the sources, the company has planned to prolong the testing period of the SUV to make sure there are no speed breakers and faults once it hits the Indian auto market. The company wishes to leave no room for faults as the new SUV will gun popular cars like Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio.

    As revealed by the sources, the company has planned to prolong the testing period of the SUV to make sure there are no speed breakers and faults once it hits the Indian auto market. The company wishes to leave no room for faults as the new SUV will gun popular cars like Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio.

    The new SUV from Force Motors will have its 2.2 L powertrain sourced from Daimler which adds brownie points to it before even its launch. This mill however will see some alterations in order to offer better fuel efficiency which would come by reducing its output. Company's consultants overseas are working out ways to lower the NVH levels.

    Prasan Firodia, MD, Force Motors stated that the technology affixed in the engine would be the best in the segment. The C in chassis used has been developed and designed by the company itself. The prototype's performance has kept the smile intact on his face. The SUV will be manufactured at the company's Pithampur plant. An investment of 150 crore has been made in the said facility which will have an annual production capacity of 2400 units. The company is also making alterations in its retail distribution for the new SUV.
