Modified On Jul 03, 2023 03:03 PM By Rohit for Hyundai Creta

The facelifted Hyundai Creta is expected to go on sale sometime in early 2024

  • The spy video shows a redesigned grille with chrome studs and new 18-inch alloy wheels.

  • The SUV might also get new LED lighting and tweaked bumpers.

  • Inside, it could come with a new digital driver display and heated seats.

  • Additional new features will likely include 360-degree camera and ADAS.

  • To get the same 1.5-litre petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engines as the new Kia Seltos.

  • Prices could begin from Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Towards the end of 2021, the Indonesian market got a facelifted Hyundai Creta. Although it was speculated that it would be headed to India by now, it was later confirmed that we will get a different model with market-specific tweaks. Now, the facelifted Hyundai Creta has been spied on test for the first time in India.

What Can Be Seen?

While the test mule was draped in heavy black camouflage, the spy video did confirm that the facelifted Creta will likely get a redesigned grille featuring chrome studding. It also suggests that Hyundai might give the SUV a fresh pair of LED headlights with redone LED DRLs and a redone front bumper.

In profile, there are no notable changes for the 2024 Creta design, save for the larger 18-inch alloy wheels with rear disc brakes (likely borrowed from the Alcazar), and the ORVM-mounted side camera, hinting at the provision of a 360-degree setup. Details of the rear design changes are still scarce but they could include connected LED taillights and a tweaked bumper.

Expected Interior Updates

Even though the spy video doesn’t give us any glimpse into the interior of the updated SUV, we expect Hyundai to offer the new Creta with revised seat upholstery and dashboard design.

Apart from the inclusion of a 360-degree camera, the facelifted Creta is also expected to be provided with a fully digital driver’s display (from the Alcazar), heated seats, and possibly a dashcam too. Features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and ventilated front seats will likely be carried forward.

On the safety front, the facelifted Creta will come with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), as seen on the new Verna, which will likely encompass features like lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. Other safety equipment on board will include up to six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a reversing camera.

Plenty Of Engine-gearbox Options

The facelifted Creta will continue to share its powertrains, except for one change, with the Kia Seltos which are as follows:

Specification

1.5-litre N.A. Petrol

1.5-litre Turbo-petrol

1.5-litre Diesel

Power

115PS

160PS

116PS

Torque

144Nm

253Nm

250Nm

Transmission

6-speed/ CVT

6-speed iMT/ 7-speed DCT

6-speed MT/ 6-speed AT

The change mentioned earlier is that the Creta will likely come with a 6-speed MT with the turbo-petrol unit instead of the 6-speed iMT offered on the Seltos.

Launch, Price And Rivals

Hyundai is expected to launch the facelifted Creta sometime early next year, with prices likely to begin from Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will continue to lock horns with the Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
