Grand Vitara highlights
December 04, 2015: Suzuki has introduced the new 1.4-liter BoosterJet engine with Vitara S in the UK. Earlier in November, Suzuki Vitara was spied at a Maruti-Suzuki premises (presumably) in Noida. There are 3 Vitaras that appear to be the European spec vehicles of the compact SUV and they are probably brought here to be showcased at the upcoming 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The car was first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show that took place early this year. While, it is based upon the iV-4 concept that was revealed back in 2013 and carries a contemporary boxy styling. It carries a slight resemblance to the old Grand Vitara that is currently available in the country. On the outside, it gets a clamshell bonnet, projector headlamps, contrasting roof, understated lower air dam, chrome grille, indented tail lamps and large graphite alloy wheels. In European markets, it is powered by a 1.6 litre 4-cylinder petrol motor that produces a decent 120 bhp, while the option of the 1.6-litre 320 Nm diesel engine is also available (same as S-Cross). With the petrol motor, it gets a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic options, whereas the diesel motor gets only the 6-speed manual option.
