Expectedly, the sixth-generation Pololooks quintessentially Volkswagenwith its understated design. Volkswagen has released a couple of official pictures of the all-new Polo ahead of its global debut on the coming Friday. The official shots largely reveal the head and tail lamps of the 2018 Polo.

It is a typical VW affair with the design of its lamps. The headlamps feature a projector lamp – a rectangular one much like the Golf – along with a cornering lamp.

There’s a snaky-looking LED daytime running lamp (DRL), which, like every VW, merges with the horizontal slat in the grille. The DRL is likely to double up as a turn signal. Also, notice the nose of the new Polo is relatively low compared to the outgoing model, much like the newer cars nowadays.

The tail lamps look identical to the outgoing Polo with a stubby square-ish layout. It has busy graphics like always with multiple reflectors and LED elements.

The 2018 Polo’s side profile is also visible, which looks identical to the current Fabia (not sold in India). Its character lines make the new Polo look side-heavy, similar to the Fabia, and imparts pseudo width to the hatchback. There’s a glimpse of the Polo’s new machined alloy wheels as well.
