In the car market, we got updates on Mahindra and Toyota special editions, a Maruti milestone and upcoming Skoda and Tata facelifts being spied on test. There were also updates from global players like Volvo and VinFast, along with the Indian auto-giant Tata Motors, making its return to the land of Proteas.

    Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition Gets More Units

    Mahindra has expanded the availability of its limited BE 6 Batman Edition from the originally planned 300 units to a total of 999 units due to strong public demand. The bookings for this ‘The Dark Knight Trilogy’ inspired BE 6 will open on August 23.

    Toyota Camry Sprint Edition Launched

    The Toyota Camry Sprint Edition has finally been launched, which was showcased during the launch of the standard model. It is being offered as a sportier-looking variant of its flagship hybrid sedan with no change in price or powertrain. It gets an accessory kit and a couple of convenience features at no extra cost.

    Toyota Glanza Gets Costlier

    Toyota Glanza prices hiked by up to Rs 12,000

    The Toyota Glanza has had its prices increased by up to Rs 12,000. The prices of the top-spec V variants of the Glanza remain unchanged, while the other variants are now more expensive. This follows the recent safety upgrade in the Glanza that added six airbags as standard across all its variants.

    Maruti Fronx Achieves A Production Milestone

    The Maruti Fronx has achieved a production milestone of 5 lakh units in just 28 months since its launch in April 2023. Previously, the Fronx has also hit a sales milestone of 1 lakh units after ten months of its launch. 

    VinFast Minio Green Design Patented In India

    The Vietnamese carmaker VinFast has already geared up for its India entry with VF7 expected to launch soon, and has now filed a design patent in India for its Minio Green EV. It is a compact three-door electric hatchback measuring about 3 metres in length, and when launched, could be the direct rival to the MG Comet EV. 

    Hyundai Exter Gets New Colour And Accessories

    Hyundai has introduced a new Pro accessory pack for the Exter. It adds a couple of exterior accessories along with a new Titan Grey Matte colour, which was already offered with bigger Hyundai SUVs like the Creta and Alcazar. The carmaker has also made the dashcam available in more variants of the micro-SUV.

    India-spec Volvo EX30 Revealed

    The India-spec Volvo EX30 has been unveiled ahead of its expected launch in September 2025. It will be the brand’s smallest and most affordable electric SUV and will be offered in a single variant on our shores. The EX30 boasts a stylish signature Volvo design along with a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.

    2026 Skoda Kushaq Facelift Spied

    Skoda Kushaq facelift spied testing

    The Skoda Kushaq facelift has been spied testing in India, showing changes to its lighting elements and other exterior details. While the interior couldn’t be spotted, the Skoda compact SUV is expected to get a major design overhaul with this update. The facelifted Kushaq is expected to launch by early 2026.

    The Tata Punch facelift has been spotted testing again in Pune, this time revealing a different rear design with new connected LED taillights, a revised bumper and refreshed alloy wheels. The overall silhouette looked the same, while, as per its previous sightings, it will also bring notable updates to its cabin.

    Tata Motors Makes A Comeback In South Africa

    Tata Motors has returned to South Africa’s passenger vehicle market after six years with the launch of the Harrier, Punch, Curvv, and Tiago. The carmaker has partnered with Motus Holdings and plans to expand its network from 40 to 60 dealerships by 2026. Except for the Harrier, the other three models miss out on certain powertrain choices there, that are otherwise available in India.
