Air pollution is a big problem in India with many contributing factors. This harmful air, when inhaled, can cause serious damage to one’s health and well being. Also, as the festive season is here, the levels of air pollution will see a spike resulting in much worse conditions. For example, the AQI (air quality index) was in the high 400s for Delhi in early November 2023 (a score of 50 or lower indicates a good quality of air).

Kia Sonet
Kia Sonet comes with an air purifier which can be had from its HTK Plus variant onwards. Kia calls it the Smart Pure air purifier and it offers protection against viruses and bacteria. The air purifier unit with the readout is housed in the central console armrest between the front seats. The HTK Plus variant starts from Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Venue
Hyundai Venue comes with a built-in air purifier, which the carmaker calls an Auto Healthy air purifier. This feature comes from the SX (O) trim of the subcompact SUV but is not offered with the diesel manual powertrain. You can get this variant at Rs 9.76 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia Seltos
Just like the Sonet, the Kia Seltos compact SUV also offers an integrated air purifier for the benefit of its customers. In fact, it’s one of the earliest mass-market models to offer this feature, introduced back in 2019. It also goes a step above by integrating haptic controls into the unit, and a perfume diffuser mechanism with the air purifier system. You can get this feature from the mid-spec HTK variants of the compact SUV, which is priced from Rs 12.10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
Tata Nexon
As part of the many feature additions for the new Tata Nexon, the extremely popular sub-4m SUV, now also gets an air purifier that comes with dust sensors. It is offered in the top-spec Fearless variants of the subcompact SUV, prices of which start from Rs 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Verna
The Hyundai Verna gets an integrated air purifier from the higher-spec SX (O) variant, and it’s the only one in this segment to offer this particular convenience. Prices of the SX (O) variants of the compact sedan start from Rs 14.66 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Creta
The Hyundai Creta also gets an air purifier which the carmaker calls the Auto Healthy air purifier. Like the Seltos, it too has haptic controls and a perfume diffuser mechanism. The compact SUV gets this feature from the SX variants onwards, prices of which start from Rs 14.81 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia Carens
You can also get an air purifier with the Kia Carens that offers virus and bacteria protection. The MPV gets this feature from the mid-spec Luxury variants, which start from Rs 16.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Nexon EV
Just like its ICE (internal combustion engine) counterpart, the facelifted Tata Nexon EV also comes with an air purifier with an AQI (air quality index) display. The electric SUV gets this in the top-spec Empowered variants, prices of which start from Rs 17.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Harrier
The recently updated Tata Harrier gets an air purifier as well. It comes with an AQI (air quality index) display as well which you can use to see the exact level of purification. The Harrier offers this feature from the mid-spec Adventure+ variant, the prices of which start from Rs 21.69 lakh (ex-showroom)
Tata Safari
Just like the Harrier, the new Tata Safari also comes with an air purifier with the same AQI display. Tata offers this from the mid-spec Adventure+ variants of the mid-size SUV, which is priced from Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
