5 Things The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis Gets Over The Kia Carens

The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis debuted recently with a new exterior and interior design, but a similar three-row seating layout as the currently-available Kia Carens MPV. While the Carens MPV has recently seen several of its variants discontinued, the Carens Clavis has arrived as a more modern and well-equipped option that offers 5 things that make it seem like a better prospect on paper. Here’s a list of those things:

Dual 12.3-inch Displays

The Kia Syros was the first mass-market car from the carmaker to feature dual 12.3-inch displays. Now, the Kia Carens Clavis too has been provided with the same feature. However, both features are not provided from the base-spec variant, but from the one-below-top HTX trim. In comparison, the Carens Premium (O) gets an 8-inch touchscreen and a semi-digital driver’s display.

Panoramic Sunroof

A panoramic sunroof is also a new feature for the Carens nameplate that is debuting with the Carens Clavis MPV. It is being offered only with the turbo-petrol engine in the HTX variant. The lower-spec HTK Plus variant, however, gets a single-pane sunroof. The Carens, on the other hand, does not get any sunroof after its 9 variants were discontinued recently.

Level-2 ADAS

Another new amenity that debuted for the Carens nameplate with the Clavis reveal was a full suite of driver assistance tech including features like adaptive cruise control and driver attention warning. These features are offered only in the fully-loaded HTX Plus trim.

Bigger 17-inch Alloy Wheels

The Kia Carens Clavis features larger and more premium 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, compared to the 16-inch steel wheels with covers offered on the current Kia Carens Premium (O) variant. While the discontinued higher variants of the Carens MPV did get alloy wheels, they were smaller in size at 16 inches.

Electronic Parking Brake

The Kia Carens Clavis also debuted an electronic parking brake with an auto hold function, which is being offered from the mid-spec HTK Plus variant with only the automatic options. Other trims continue with the manual hand brake, which is also offered in the Kia Carens MPV.

Prices of the Kia Carens Clavis will be revealed on May 23, 2025, which are expected to start from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). In comparison, the current-spec Kia Carens MPV ranges between Rs 11.41 lakh and Rs 13.16 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). Both Kia MPVs lock horns with the Maruti XL6, Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Rumion, while being an affordable option to the Maruti Invicto, Toyota Innova Hycross and Toyota Innova Crysta.
