The HTK Plus is the only variant in the entire Clavis lineup to come with a diesel-automatic powertrain
The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis has been recently revealed and it is offered in a total of seven broad variants: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX Plus. In this article, we take a closer look at the mid-spec HTK Plus variant of the Carens Clavis using real-life images.
Front
The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis features a standout design that sets it apart from its sibling, the Carens. It has a tall and upright fascia that gives it an SUV-like look. At the front, it gets a blanked-off nose with triangular housings for the headlights.
The HTK Plus variant comes with halogen projector headlights, unlike the triple-pod LED units offered in higher variants. However, it does get the inverted L-shaped LED DRLs that frame the headlights. These DRLs are connected by a silver insert, and the Kia logo is placed on the bonnet. The thick black bumper gives it a rugged look, with some contrast offered by the silver skid plate.
Side

By the side, the Carens Clavis HTK Plus looks stylish. It runs on 16-inch steel wheels with styled covers that mimic the look of alloys. That said, the higher variants do get 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The mid-spec Clavis gets body-coloured outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) with integrated turn indicators, pull-type door handles and silver roof rails.
There’s a fine black body cladding that continues to the wheel arches and flows into the bumpers. A sculpted shoulder line is present above both the wheel arches, giving it character. The glass area also has a slim chrome garnish for a premium look. A slim blacked out element on the C-pillar as well as completely black A- and B-pillars gives the roof a floating effect.
Rear
The HTK Plus variant of the Carens Clavis gets connected LED taillights, rear wiper, washer and defogger in the lineup. It also has a sporty touch in the form of the roof-mounted spoiler. A shark-fin antenna sits on top, and the rear bumper features a silver skid plate.
Interior
Step inside the Carens Clavis HTK Plus and you're welcomed by a dual-tone beige and black interior that looks upmarket. The cabin features a layered dashboard design with horizontal elements that makes the dashboard look wide and uncluttered. The upper half of the dashboard has a black finish with a fine metallic insert for a touch of contrast.
The steering wheel, finished in all black, is similar to the one seen in the Syros sub-4m SUV. Below the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with dedicated physical knobs and buttons. It also gets separate AC controls, unlike higher variants with the 12.3-inch.

The seats get black semi-leatherette upholstery and the driver’s seat is facilitated with manual height adjustments.

The HTK Plus is available only with a 7-seater layout that gets bench seats in the 2nd row which are further foldable with a one-touch tumble function. The occupant’s comfort is also taken care of by auto AC with 2nd and 3rd row rear vents and sunshades for second-row occupants. It also gets multiple drive modes exclusively for the automatic variants. Third-row occupants can also relax well making use of the seat recline feature.
If you want a 6-seater variant, it is limited to the top-spec HTX Plus variant.

The cabin also offers plenty of practical storage spaces in the door panels, the centre console, and seatback pockets behind the front passenger seat.
Features & Safety
The Kia Carens Clavis HTK Plus variant comes decently equipped with essential features. It offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch multi-information display (MID), and a 6-speaker sound system. Other convenience features include a one-touch auto up/down window for the driver, push-button start/stop, cruise control, and auto-folding ORVMs. It also gets multiple drive modes exclusively for the automatic variants.
A sunroof is sorely missed in this variant. And for those opting for the diesel-automatic, it’s an even bigger bummer as the HTK Plus is the only variant to offer this powertrain.

The safety suite of the Carens Clavis HTK Plus includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill start assist and hill descent control, disc brakes on all wheels, electronic parking brake with auto hold, front and rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera.
The higher variants also include a panoramic sunroof, dashcam, ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, 360-degree parking camera and advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS).
