Maruti Jimny Waiting Period Already Extends Beyond 6 Months
It already had over 30,000 bookings by the time prices were revealed

The Maruti Jimny was launched recently but the bookings opened back in January 2023. Since then it has garnered a large number of pre-orders and now, in a recent conversation with us, the carmaker has revealed that prospective buyers for the Jimny are looking at a waiting period of close to eight months!

Maruti says it has received around 31,000 bookings for the Jimny so far, and it is still getting about 150 bookings a day.

Maruti also revealed that it has plans to ramp up production of its off-roading SUV to bring down waiting periods.
Jimny Prices & Details
The Maruti Jimny’s prices range from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets 4WD as standard with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a choice of a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed auto. The lifestyle SUV is only offered in two variants – Zeta and Alpha – both offering an infotainment system, six airbags, a rearview camera, and hill assist. It is still strictly a four-seater with a somewhat usable boot compared to its three-door version offered globally.

The Maruti Jimny is a NEXA offering and competes against the likes of the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, serving as an adventurous alternative to the subcompact SUV segment.
