We have witnessed a lot of important events this year in the four-wheeler industry but as the year nears the end, the occurrence of major news declines. While the start of this week did not have much going on, as the week progressed, the industry gave us some important news including the unveiling of a facelifted subcompact SUV, and hint of an important safety update coming to a Tata SUV. Kia Sonet Facelift Unveiled

After seeing it in multiple spy shots, we got our proper look at the facelifted Kia Sonet in the last week. The subcompact SUV gets major design changes, some tweaks inside the cabin, new convenience features, and a diesel-manual option as well. However, the biggest change came in safety as it got 6 standard airbags and 10 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) features.

Tata Punch To Get Better Safety Equipment

The Tata Punch is already a 5-star rated car, a rating which it got from Global NCAP back in 2021. However, it still only comes with dual front airbags. Recently, the website of Bharat NCAP went live with images of some cars being crash tested, and one of them was the Tata Punch which was seen with both side and curtain airbags, hinting that a safety update is coming soon.

Made-in-India 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny Launched In Australia

After the launch of the 5-door Maruti Jimny in India, the carmaker started exporting it to international markets, and the made-in-India 5-door Jimny has been launched in Australia as Suzuki Jimny XL. The Australian-spec offroader gets some exclusive colour options, slightly different powertrain outputs and even a big safety tech over the India-spec model.

Mahindra Scorpio N Performs Poorly In Australian NCAP

The Mahindra Scorpio N was recently crash tested at Australia NCAP (ANCAP), the results of which came out this week. The rugged SUV, which has a 5-star crash test safety rating from Global NCAP, scored 0 stars in Australian NCAP, due to the absence of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
