The sedan’s 150PS engine gets more affordable and more engaging, while the new colour will be available for a limited period

The Volkswagen Virtus GT Line gets more affordable now, with the introduction of a manual transmission. Meanwhile, the sedan gets a new Deep Black Pearl shade, though limited to the GT Line trims.

The Volkswagen Virtus GT line that offers the 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is now available with a manual variant. Until now, this engine was only available with the 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic). The manual transmission variant undercuts the automatic by a whopping Rs 1.67 lakh and also caters to enthusiasts who seek a more engaging driving experience.

The sedan is also offered with 115PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with a choice of 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

The Deep Black Pearl colour demands Rs 20,000 over the regular colour options. The sedan was already offered with six colour options: Curcuma Yellow, Rising Blue Metallic, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel Grey, Candy White, and Wild Cherry Red. You can book these GT Edge variants with the new colour online and the manufacturing will depend on the total bookings. It will be a limited-run model and the deliveries will begin in July 2023.

This update brings no changes in the features list. Hence, the sedan continues with its electric sunroof, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital driver’s display, wireless phone charger, and ventilated front seats. Safety is covered by up to six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and rear parking camera.

The Virtus goes up against the Hyundai VernaSkoda SlaviaMaruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Honda City, but none of its rivals get an all-black shade.
