Special Ladies Polo Cup race held in Chennai
Volkswagen India and JK Tyre in collaboration recently organised a unique Ladies Polo Cup Race in Sriperumbudur, Chennai at the MMSC Irungattukottai Race Track. This the place which is designated as the heartland of Indian Motorsports. The unique race was scheduled at the 5th Round of Polo Cup India 2010 on Sunday. The big occasion was attended by many Bollywood stars and other Racing personalities. The unique race was flagged by none other than Dr. John Chacko who is the President and Managing Director of Volkswagen India Private Limited, he thus acted as the Volkswagen Group Chief Representative from India, and also Mr. Prakash Jha who is producer of the upcoming movie, “Turning 30”.

The race was a big success and was filled with huge applaud from renowned personalities sitting in audience. The Wonder creator Nawaz Sandhu proved to be the ace-rallyist by grabbing the first position in this race. She showcase a stunning timing of 1:14.623, at a speed of 178.5 km/h for 7-lap all ladies Special Polo Cup race.

The race was filled with Bollywood masala from the starting till its end. No hiatus was observed in fun and verve along the whole race. Gil Panag was delighted to flag-off the first Polo Cup race of the weekend. The whole weekend was action packed with a ladies special Polo Cup race marking its finale on Sunday. On the tracks, the Indian racers Sarika Sherawat and Anita Kholay managed the position of first and second runner ups.

On the track, beautiful ladies displayed some wonderful driving skills which were yet undiscovered for audience. The fans were on their feet to cheer for the beauties on road, giving a proof that racing is no more men specific game.
On the graceful and unique occasion, famous Bollywood actress Gul Panag commented that Volkswagen has played a major role in bringing women on racing tracks. She was glad to attend the occasion and said that this race depicts the character she is going to play in her upcoming movie, 'Turning 30'.
