Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova Crysta Remain The Best-Selling MPVs In October 2019
While every other brand crossed the 1k sales mark, Renault failed to ship even 50 units of its MPV in October

A few months ago, the MPV segment grew with the addition of the Maruti Suzuki XL6. The segment now offers a total of five MPVs. Even though it is not the most preferred segment, a couple of brands managed to ship over 5,000 units of their MPV offering. Let's see how each MPV performed in the month of October:

Takeaways
Maruti Ertiga: One of the two Maruti MPVs on offer, the Ertiga is the most preferred MPV. It commands the highest market share of almost 26 per cent. The Ertiga witnessed a growth of over 14 per cent in month-on-month (MoM) figures.
Toyota Innova Crysta: Toyota managed to ship over 5000 units of the Innova Crysta, making it the second most popular MPV. It has a market share of over 18 per cent. The Innova Crysta's sales figures in October managed to surpass its average monthly sales over the past six months.
Maruti XL6: The newest addition to the segment, the XL6 is growing in popularity as Maruti shipped 4,328 units of its new MPV. It managed to better its September figures by almost 500 units.
Mahindra Marazzo: When comparing its MoM figures, the Marazzo witnessed a growth of a little over 17 per cent. That said, it is still well behind the Maruti and Toyota offerings in terms of popularity and holds a market share of almost 4 per cent.
Renault Lodgy: The Lodgy is the least-preferred MPV of the lot. Renault failed to ship even 50 units of the Lodgy, making it the only MPV to witness a negative growth in its MoM figures. Currently, it demands a market share of a mere 0.17 per cent. It can be said that Renault's new 7-seater offering, the Triber, may have taken attention away from the aging Lodgy.
