December 7, 2016: Renault recently launched the 'World Edition' of the MPV in two engine variants of 85PS and 110PS. The French automaker is reportedly also readying the AMT version of Lodgy, which is expected to be launched in coming months. The specs of the Lodgy MPV AMT variant will remain ditto, but with an updated mechanism of automatic transmission. The car will compete against Maruti Ertiga automatic and upcoming Toyota Innova Crysta automatic, in the respective segment. The AMT module will be installed in the 110PS diesel model, same as that of Duster. The launch of new variant will give it the needed impetus to go against the competition. As per pricing, it is expected to be a little above the standard variants. Renault is offering cash benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh in December 2016.
I own a 110PS, Diesel variant Lodgy over a year now in Chennai and I have driven it in the city, highways and hills as well. The drive is absolutely impressive and the way it handles the Indian roads is commendable.Mileage is pretty good, it averages out well.
However, i cannot deny the fact that the ground clearance of the car is relatively low and one has to be careful on the awkwardly sized speed breakers.
It can carry 7 adults at ease and it has oodles of space for luggage as well. The read more 35

Look and Style: I have been waiting for Lodgy for 3 months. Now I got it 7 days back. Looks very good. Just attracts everybody on the road wherever I park my Lodgy, lot of enquiries. Worth for the money as its look and style is excellent.
Comfort: Very nice in comfort as elders in my family are feeling comfortable inside. Driving position is awesome.

Renault entered the MPV segment in 2015 with the launch of the Lodgy. Based on the same platform as the Duster, the Lodgy is a seven-seater MPV that has been designed to cater to family car buyers and fleet-owners alike. Apart from rivaling the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio, it is a considerably more affordable people-mover than the Toyota Innova Crysta. Does it have what it takes to find a place in your garage? Let’s find out.
Things We Like in Lodgy
Tumble forward second row captain seats and removable third row liberate up to 1,861-litres of luggage space.
Fantastic ride quality. Feels at home on our broken roads.
Diesel engine offers great driveability and efficiency, whether you opt for the 85PS or 110PS tune.
Practical seven-seater. Even the last row of seats is genuinely usable.
Things We Don't Like in Lodgy
Boxy styling makes its design very polarising. May not be to everyone’s taste.
No diesel AMT like the Duster.
Interior trim quality is better than the Duster’s, but is still average for a vehicle at this price.
No sliding second row seats. Average knee room for tall occupants.
Stand Out Features
Foldable and removable third seat row.
110PS diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission
Adjustable lumbar support for the driver’s seat.
The Lodgy is a well-made, practical and efficient MPV. It shares traits like the robust build quality and fantastic ride quality with the Duster, and gets a diesel engine which is quite efficient in real world conditions.
"It’s also a great seven-seater for those cannot stretch their budget to get the expensive Innova Crysta."
The only drawbacks are its average interior quality and awkward styling, which reduce its appeal to private car owners, but it’s a great buy for fleet-owners.
The MPV battle just got more intense with Renault joining the fray as well. We take the new Lodgy for a spin to see how Innova...sorry innovative it really is! Think MPV and the first thing that comes to anyone’s lips or mind is the Toyota Innova and that is the kind of monopoly that the Innova has commanded since over a decade. Be it as a cab or for personal use, the Innova has been selling in huge numbers even though it boasts an over inflated price tag. There have been plenty of competition of course with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the recently launched Honda Mobilio which are doing quite well, but none have managed to dethrone the king. Renault thinks it has the goods to do so with its latest offering, the Lodgy. Coming right after the mega successful Duster, Renault is definitely on a high and is confident that their latest people mover will endear to the masses. We drive the Lodgy around the beautiful roads of Bangalore to find out what its all about.
