Citroen Sub-4m SUV Likely To Be Unveiled By Mid-September 2021

• Citroen’s second offering in India will be a heavily localised sub-4m SUV.

• As Citroen’s smallest SUV offering, it might be named the C3.

The Citroen SUV lineup is due to get its smallest member which will be heavily localised for the Indian market as well. While its launch here has been postponed to 2022, the model that might be named as the C3 is likely to make its global debut around mid-September 2021.

It was first expected to be revealed in May with the launch likely by Diwali 2021. This compact SUV has been spied testing multiple times while camouflaged. Leaked images of an upcoming scale model based on a small Citroen SUV suggested that the new made-for-India offering could be called the C3 and might feature styling similar to the C5 Aircross.

The sub-4m Citroen SUV will be a petrol only offering, likely powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit. Details regarding the performance figures and transmission options are yet to be shared by the carmaker.

While this new model is being heavily localised to price it competitively in the sub-4m SUV segment, it will likely be a premium offering. Its feature list is expected to include alloy wheels, a decently sized central touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, auto AC, electronic stability control and four airbags.

The second Citroen offering in India will be taking on the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford Ecosport, Renault Kiger and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
