On the nation’s 79th Independence Day, Mahindra revealed four new concepts based on the NU IQ platform: Vision S, Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT. Among these, the sub-4m Vision S is the first model to get into series production and be launched in 2027. As such, it is one concept that looks the most production-ready. So, let us take a detailed look at its exterior and interior design with the help of 10 images.

    Front

The boxy nature of the Mahindra Vision S is visible right from the front design, especially because of the square LED headlights and a wide rectangular grille, all of which is placed in a black housing.

Beside the headlights are multiple vertical light strips that act as the LED DRLs and also function as the turn indicators. But this is not the only place to get lighting elements, as some horizontal LED strips are present on the grille that make the Vision S look more modern and stylish.

To give it a rugged look, Mahindra has finished the bumper in black and has also offered a silver faux skid plate to provide an added contrast to the front design. The bumper also features multiple pixel-shaped LED lights that work as the front fog lamps.

    Side

From the side, its stance looks heavily inspired from the Defender. Not just the stance, but the ladder on the left side C-pillar and a jerry can on the lower right end of the concept look inspired by the Land Rover SUV.

The chunky wheel arches are angular that go well with the overall boxy shape. These wheel arches are extended to the lower portion of the doors, which gives the Vision S a nice black outline. It also gets dual-tone alloy wheels which have an elegant design and come clad in road-biased rubber.

Other noticeable elements include modern-looking flush-type door handles and black roof rails that make the sub-4m offering look taller.

    Rear

The rear profile is the most radical part of the SUV concept as it houses a spare wheel on the tailgate, similar to the Mahindra Thar and Mahindra Bolero Neo. The spare wheel cover features the ‘Vision S’ branding.

Mahindra Vision S concept tail lights

The tail lights are exactly identical to the headlight design of the SUV concept and the rear fog lamps also come with the same pixel-shaped design as the front units.

    Interior

The interior design is also fairly modern and comes with a dual-screen setup on the dashboard that is divided by the triangular-shaped AC vents. These AC vents protrude from the dashboard and give an aggressive character to the SUV.

It also gets a 3-spoke steering wheel which features a ‘Vision S’ badge and gets buttons for audio and cruise control.

The centre console also looks modern and comes with a gloss black finish accentuated by some silver elements. This console features twin cupholders, a gear selector lever and buttons for electronic parking brake and auto hold functions.

The seats come with navy blue and black themes, which make the cabin feel livelier. There's also a panoramic glass roof that is expected to let a lot of light into the cabin.

    Other Details

As mentioned earlier, the Mahindra Vision S will be the first amongst the four concepts to enter series production. That being said, it will serve as an alternative to the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
