Mahindra Vision X

The Mahindra Vision X is a sub-4m SUV concept showcased by Mahindra at the Freedom NU event. The Vision X could possibly be a design preview for the new-generation Mahindra XUV 3XO and Mahindra XUV400 EV. The production-ready version of the Vision X concept is expected to debut by mid-2028 or early 2029.

This new sub-4m SUV concept by Mahindra boasts smooth curves and has a futuristic styling. The hood has muscular-looking contours, while it also has a 6-slat closed-off grille at the front. The LED DRLs have a sleek design, and the LED headlights have been positioned below the DRLs. There’s a large air dam on the bumper with X-shaped vertical slats. 

Moving along the side, the Vision X concept has a gloss black cladding, and details are enhanced by silver-finished roof rails and side skirts. The Vision X concept sits on 19-inch aero-styled alloy wheels. It not only gets flush-type door handles, but also has NFC access for all four doors.

At the rear, the Vision X features connected LED taillights, and what makes it look sporty are its extended roof spoilers and blacked-out bumper. The roof spoiler integrates LED brake lights, while there’s a silver skid plate attached to the bumper. The rear profile of this concept has some resemblance to the current XUV 3XO lineup.

Inside, the Vision X concept boasts an all-black cabin layout along with a 2-spoke steering wheel. The centre AC vents merge into the side vents, and the climate control display is positioned below these vents in two trapezoidal sections. The Vision X concept could be the first Mahindra SUV to come with an integrated curved screen setup (one for the infotainment and the other for the driver’s display).

Since the Vision X is based on Mahindra’s NU IQ platform, which supports the accommodation of different powertrains, it is expected to be offered in both ICE (internal combustion engine) and EV forms.
