Skoda Rapid Hatchback for Europe in 2013

The European Skoda Rapid is soon to be introduced in hatchback version as well. The Skoda Rapid hatchback will be a conventional 5-door model which is previewed by Vision D Concept car which was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011.This new car might be introduced in 2013 especially for the European markets.

While talking to Autocar magazine UK, Jürgen Stackmann, the Sales and Marketing head said that this hatch will be shorter than the notchback-style Rapid sedan. It will have a tailgate that lifts together with the rear window, featuring a rear that is similar to Golf. He also added that the car will not be exactly what was previewed and stated that it’s not that car.

In India, Skoda Rapid is considered to be push for the sales for Skoda. Against June 2011, Skoda has achieved an 89% growth in June this year. The company sold nearly 3246 units of the Rapid sedan in India. The total sales in June for the company were 4923 units this year. Previously, in the month of June last year, Skoda achieved just 2610 units.
