Over the years, the Indian car market has seen a shift in the demand of cars from petrol to diesel and similarly Mahindra First Choice has also seen this shift over the last 6 to 8 months. According to the National Head of Franchisee Operations of the company, Sharad Agarwal, because of the drift in the preferences good diesel cars are available in low numbers; the owners are not ready to give up the diesel cars they own so easily. He added that the advent of new diesel technologies will take another 3 years and then more cars will be made available at the MFCW outlets. The 20 percent of the cars sold at the MFCW outlets are about 0 to 3 years in age, 60 percent of the sold cars are in the age range of 3 to 5 years and the remaining 20 percent belong to the 5-plus year category.
