It also achieved full scores in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) tests, scoring 8 out of 8 in the frontal crash test and 4 out of 4 in the side impact test for both 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies.

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Tata Curvv EV offered ‘good’ protection to the head, neck, chest, and thighs of both the driver and front passenger. However, protection for the passenger’s left tibia and both of the driver’s tibias was rated as ‘adequate’.

For child occupant protection, the Curvv EV scored full marks for the 18-month-old dummy in both the frontal (8 out of 8) and side (4 out of 4) impact tests. For the 3-year-old dummy, it scored 7.83 out of 8 in the frontal test and a full 4 out of 4 in the side impact test.

    Key Takeaways

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Curvv EV offered ‘adequate’ protection to the driver’s tibias and the co-driver’s left tibia, whereas the Harrier EV provided ‘good’ protection to all body regions. In the side movable deformable barrier test, chest protection in the Curvv EV was rated ‘adequate’, while it was marked ‘good’ in the Harrier EV. However, both Tata EVs delivered ‘good’ protection to all critical areas in the side pole impact test. Since the Harrier EV received ‘good’ ratings across all tests and body regions, it achieved a higher Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) score compared to the Curvv EV.

The story is similar in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) tests. While the Curvv EV matched the Harrier EV's scores in both the frontal and side impact tests for the 18-month-old dummy, it lost some points in the frontal crash test for the 3-year-old dummy. As a result, the Curvv EV ended up with a lower overall COP score compared to the Harrier EV.

    Safety Features

The Tata Curvv EV comes equipped with six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and all-wheel disc brakes. It also features an electronic parking brake with auto hold and a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite, which includes functions like adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.

The Harrier EV builds on this safety package by offering an additional knee airbag for the driver, along with advanced features such as a digital inside rearview mirror (IRVM), transparent bonnet view, and auto park assist.
