MG Windsor EV Was The Best Selling EV In FY2025, Check Out The Sales Of The Other EVs In India

MG and Tata EVs have been the most trusted choices for Indian buyers in the previous fiscal year (FY 2024-25)
The electric car segment in India is steadily growing, with multiple carmakers offering a range of products. Tata Motors continues to lead the space with the highest number of EVs, including the Tata Harrier EV, Nexon EV and Curvv EV, followed by MG Motor. Mahindra and Hyundai have also joined the race with their own electric offerings. On the other hand, Kia will enter the mass-market EV segment with the Carens Clavis EV, and it currently offers the premium EV6 and EV9 offerings in India.. Similarly, Maruti is yet to launch its first-ever EV, which is expected to happen during the festive season.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the EV sales data for FY2025 to see which models are performing the best.

The MG Windsor has been the top choice for buyers in the EV space in India. Since its launch in September 2024, the carmaker has sold 19,394 units of the Windsor in just eight months. The Windsor was also recently updated with a Pro variant featuring a bigger battery pack and increased range, which has further added to its appeal.

The other two MG models on the list are the Comet EV and ZS EV, occupying the fifth and seventh bestselling positions, respectively. However, unlike the Windsor EV and Comet EV, the ZS EV’s unit sales remained below the 10,000 mark.

The Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV, and Tiago EV were the second, third, and fourth bestselling models. The Curvv EV and Tigor EV are also in sixth and tenth places, with over 7,000 and 4,000 unit sales, respectively.

For Mahindra, the XEV 9e was their best-selling EV, holding the eighth position, followed by the XUV400 EV in ninth place. Comparatively, the BE 6’s sales have been slightly lower, with just over 2,600 units sold in FY25.

The Hyundai Creta Electric was launched in January, and in its four months on sale, the carmaker has sold over 3,600 units of the EV, thus enjoying the eleventh place in this list

Among premium EVs, the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 posted decent sales of around 800 and 350 units, respectively. The Kia EV9, being the most expensive, recorded just 18 unit sales.
