Showing information of Tata Tiago 1.05 Revotorq XZ - Diesel variant

Tiago highlights

October 13, 2016: The latest hatchback from the Indian carmaker, Tata Tiago has been crafted on a new platform with a design philosophy never seen before in Tata cars. The car recently crossed 50,000 bookings as waiting period for certain variants has shot up to around four months. The Tiago is offered in both diesel and petrol avatars with prices ranging between Rs 3.2 lakh and Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) as the current waiting period stands at no less than three months. The former is a 1.05-litre unit that generates 70PS of peak power and a peak torque of 140Nm while the latter is a 1.2-litre engine that churns out 85PS and 114Nm. The Tiago delivers a claimed mileage of 23.84kmpl and 27.28kmpl for the petrol and diesel respectively. Tata will soon introduce the AMT version of the Tiago (around the festive season); the petrol AMT will be launched first and the diesel version will come in later. Tata has now increased prices of the Tiago by around Rs 6,000 (vs the launch price), depending on the variant.

    Tata Tiago 1.05 Revotorq XZ

I bought the Tata Tiago a month back. I have been inside a Tata India ever since I remember being in a car. My father is still using the Indica and it still works great. Owing to the trust in the Tata brand, I bought the Tiago. The car has a really good build quality and feels strong. The designing is also good and the car looks really good. The new grill and headlamps make the car look smart and the boot gate is also elegant. The paint quality is also good and the car shines in the sun.Inside, read more 516

Last month, I have bought Tata Tiago Revotorq XZ & have completed 2100 km till date. In this period, I have driven it on long highways, off-road villages and moreover to one hill station. My overall experience with this car has been excellent. Fuel economy is good on highways, which is 24km/l while in the city it delivers 18-19 Km/l with AC on.Music system in the car is very good with premium sounds. On service part, my local distributor has lent good support and follows up on regular interv read more 279

Have bought Tata's most precious metal, Tiago XM Diesel 8 days back from Sanya Motors, a Tata dealer from Aurangabad (MS). It was a great hospitality experience from the sales team of the dealer as they have delivered my dream car on my occasion, which made me really happy. The way General Manager attended me and explained the feature of the car that made me buy Tiago as earlier I was really confused because of my budget and wanted to buy only a diesel car.Have bought Tiago XM diesel Espresso read more 225

Tata Tiago review

With the Tiago, Tata Motors seem to have gone back to their USP — developing low cost, city hatchbacks. While products like the Vista and the Bolt were competent offerings from the Indian automaker, they’ve always lurked in the shadows of the iconic Indica. The Tiago, however, aims to be different by kicking things up a notch. The new avatar is radically different; not something the average joe would associate Tata with. The spiritual successor to the Indica is all set to hit showroom floors in early 2016. What does it bring to the table? Read on:

Pros

Peppy petrol and torquey diesel engines. Tuned just right for the city and occasional highway jaunts

Impressive feature list - integrated music system, chilled glovebox, electric mirrors etc

Interior build quality. A notch above the Celerio and on par with the Grand i10

Refreshing styling. Does not look like a derivative of the Indica (a la Bolt/Vista)

Cons

Cramped footwell at the front will make taller passengers uncomfortable

Rear seats lack under-thigh support. Will be uncomfortable over long journeys

Engines sound coarse and unrefined at high revs

Stand Out Features

  • 8 - speaker sound system developed by Harman. Arguably the best in the segment.

  • Colour co-ordinated interiors in the top-spec variants look cool.

  • Multi Drive Modes. Driver can switch between ECO and CITY modes to alter behaviour and response of the engine.

CarDekho Verdict

Prices for the Tiago start at Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bearing this price in mind, we have to say that the Tiago, is Tata’s best foot forward yet. If you are looking for a hatchback that is trendy, has loads of features and ample amount of space, the Tiago fits the bill nicely.
