New Generation Skoda Octavia in Dicsussions?

During a presentation for the Skoda Rapid notchback, it seems Skoda shared the glimpses of the probable new generation Octavia. The pictures revealed by the L'Automobile France, are the superimposed pictures that were set for a discussion by Skoda for information on the new Rapid.

However, when the picture was studied closely the longer wheelbase, sleeker design etc. looked similar to the VisionD concept that was previewed last year. These hints seem to be pointing towards a new Octavia.

Amidst the unclarity and uncertainty, it is just an assumption that the new Rapid and next generation Skoda Octavia will take influences from the prevailing Rapid and VisionD. These images might be a marketing tactic of covering the new model that is meant to be kept under covers at least for some time.

Coming back to India, there are also speculations that the Skoda Laura name is going to soon be replaced with the Octavia, probably looking at the rising popularity of the brand name. Currently there are three petrol models for Laura, followed by five diesel models, falling in the price range of Rs. 12.90 Lakh- Rs. 18.97 Lakh.
