  • Interior design will also be the same, with 7 seats on offer, save for a new black and white theme.

  • The feature suite will include dual 12.3-inch displays, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger and auto AC.

  • Its safety suite is likely to include 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake and level-2 ADAS.

  • Prices are expected to commence from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV, which is the electric iteration of the premium MPV, has been teased for the first time ahead of its launch on July 15, 2025. The teaser shows the exterior and interior design of the electric MPV while also revealing that the Carens Clavis EV will have a claimed range of up to 490 km.

Let us take a look at everything that could be spotted in the teaser:

What Could Be Spotted?

The teaser reveals that the Kia Carens Clavis EV carries a design very similar to its ICE-powered version. At the front, it features the same 3-pod headlights in a triangular housing with LED DRLs, and the grille is blanked off but features a charging flap specific to the EV. The front bumper also continues with the same design and pixel-shaped fog lamps that ground off the minimalistic look.

From the side, the Carens Clavis EV retains the same silhouette, with black cladding around the wheel arches and along the lower door sections. The main change here is the addition of new aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, which are expected to be similar in size to those on the petrol or diesel versions.

At the rear, the EV gets connected LED tail lights and a rugged-looking bumper with chrome accents that add a touch of premium styling.

The interior has also been previewed, and while the dashboard layout and 7-seater configuration are the same as the regular Carens, the EV version features a black and white colour scheme similar to what is seen in the lower variants of the standard model. The centre console has been redesigned, with the gear selector removed to create more space. It now appears to have a sliding tray that could offer additional storage. Apart from this, most of the interior elements remain unchanged.

Kia has confirmed a claimed range of 490 km (MIDC part 1+2) for the Carens Clavis EV, although details about the battery pack and electric motor are yet to be revealed.

Expected Features And Safety

While the detailed specifications are yet to be revealed, the teaser suggests that the Kia Carens Clavis EV will come with dual 12.3-inch screens, one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital driver’s display. It is also expected to offer a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, and auto AC. Additionally, it could feature powered and ventilated front seats along with a premium sound system to enhance the overall cabin experience.

On the safety front, the Carens Clavis EV is likely to carry forward features from the ICE-powered version. These may include six airbags as standard, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, and a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).

Expected Price And Rival

The Kia Carens Clavis is expected to be priced from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). While it does not have a direct rival, it is expected to be an alternative to compact electric SUVs, such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara.
