    BMW 7-Series facelift launches tomorrow

    BMW India is ready to launch the facelift version of 7-series luxury saloon in India tomorrow. The 7-Series has always been the strong vehicle in its segment, and has done decent business for the German auto-giant. The current-gen 7-Series does have some short-comings, which company recognized, and tomorrow we will see the new and more dynamic 7-Series. BMW had unveiled the new BMW 7-Series at the Jodhpur One World Retreat, a Charity event. The new 7-Series comes with fine tweaks, is basically a mid-life makeover for the car.

    BMW 7 Series

    The facelifted BMW 7-Series now gets some styling updates both inside and out. The front fascia of the new car comes with a redesigned headlamps offered in a full LED trims, newly-formulated front bumper and grille, and the turn indicators are integrated on the wing mirrors of the new car. The rear-end of the car too, gets new tail lamps, newly styled bumpers and a thick chrome strip flowing across the bootlid. The interiors are now more sophisticated and comfortable, the front seats are smaller to get a better view of outside, new leather seats are added and a more sound insulation to improve the cabin experience. The new BMW 7-Series gets a new digital displays for the dials, and an optional 10.25 inch LCD display is also available for the iDrive system and 3D navigation maps.

    The new 7-Series will be assembled locally at the BMW's Chennai assembly via the completely Knocked down (CKD) kit route. The German automaker hasn't changed the engine configuration of the luxury sedan. The car continue to be powered by a 3-litre inline six turbo diesel engine that produces 258bhp. The engine is now coupled to an 8-speed manual transmission, dropping the 7-speed gearbox used in the previous generation. For instance, the BMW 7-Series is only made available in diesel, while there is all the possibility that the company might bring a powerful petrol version after sometime.
