Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza: For the second time in a month, the Vitara Brezza has once again crossed the coveted 10,000 unit mark. While this was a regular occurrence for the Vitara Brezza previously, it is now ageing and the recently launched Hyundai Venue is breathing down its neck. Overall, the Vitara Brezza commands a market share of just over 33 per cent.

Hyundai Venue: The Venue is hot on the Vitara Brezza’s tail, with its numbers improving every month. With a market share of just under 28 per cent, it won’t be long before the Venue knocks on the Vitara Brezza’s door.

Tata Nexon: After a disappointing September where its sales fell below the 3000 units mark, the Nexon bounced back in October, almost touching the 4500 units. The Nexon has never been in competition for the top spot but its consistent numbers has made sure that it consistently comes in third. The increased sales saw the Nexon bag a market share of just under 15 per cent in October.

Ford EcoSport: The EcoSport is the oldest of the lot of all the SUVs on the list and has gone through two facelifts. But despite its age it still manages to rake in decent numbers. In October, its sales were just behind the Nexon, raking in a market share of just over 14 per cent.

Mahindra XUV300: While all the other SUVs on the list have improved their performance, it is only the XUV300 whose sales have gone down. Month-on-month, its sales went down by almost 18 per cent. And if you compare the October numbers to the XUV300’s average monthly sales over the last six months, things get even worse. It holds a market share of a little under 7 per cent, based on its October performance.

Mahindra TUV300: Despite its sales going below the 1000 unit mark in September, the TUV300 has bounced back with more than 1200 units sold in October. While it is last on the list, the TUV300 has been performing consistently over a long period. What’s more, its target audience is a little different from other SUVs on the list. It has a market share of just over 4 per cent.

Total: Overall, the sub-4 metre SUV segment has seen an upward spike in numbers. Compared to September sales, the numbers have gone up by more than 11 per cent.
