Jeep 7-seater SUV Spied Again, Taillights Clearly Visible

The upcoming 7-seater SUV from Jeep, likely to be called the Meridian in India, has been spied once again, allowing us this time to take a closer look at its exterior. We noticed some crucial details which weren’t clearly visible in the previous spy shots or in the few teasers put out by Jeep.
Up front, the grille and air dam are clearly visible. The former features Jeep’s iconic seven-slat design with a textured surface blocking the traditional air opening. This is similar to the Jeep Compass. The air dam below the grille features small rectangular openings to feed air to the radiator. The wheels are identical to the India-spec Compass.

At the back, the taillight is clearly visible. An LED light guide underlines the horizontally set tail lamp, and we expect the entire setup to offer LED lighting.
We couldn't make out other details since the rest of the car is heavily covered.
The interior of the Meridian will be the same as the Compass, although Jeep could choose to play around with the colours. That means the Compass’s 10.25-inch driver display and 10.1-inch touchscreen could make their way into the 7-seater SUV. We also expect Jeep to use more premium materials in the cabin, much like the Commander, which has already been teased in Brazil.
The Meridian could use the 268PS/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine (from the Wrangler) and a 2.0-litre diesel engine (from the Compass, but retuned for more power).
Once launched in 2022, the Jeep Meridian will be manufactured locally, allowing the carmaker to price it between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 40 lakh. It will go up against stalwarts in the 7-seater premium SUV segment - Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and MG Gloster.
