Tata Indica, Indigo to become costlier from 1st Oct.
After significant price hike from top auto companies- Maruti and Hyundai, leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors is also reported to increase prices of its popular cars like Tata Indica and Tata Indigo from October 1, 2010. The price hike is said to be done due to increasing input costs mainly tyres. The price increase will also cover buses and trucks that is supposed to be around 2-5 per cent.

Prior to this development, market leader Maruti India had increased prices of its products including Maruti Alto from August. There are other other popular cars in Maruti's stable such as Maruti A Star, Maruti Swift, Maruti WagonR, Maruti Eeco, etc. Following Maruti, second largest car maker, Hyundai India also hiked costs of its cars in India by 1.2 per cent from the starting of the current month. Hyundai cars in India includes Hyundai i10, Hyundai i20, Hyundai Santro, Hyundai Sonata, etc.
