As the Indian automotive industry continues its recovery, Tata has decided to increase the prices of its most recent addition to the lineup, the Altroz. The price hike was expected price considering they had not changed since launch and it is routine for carmakers to increase prices a few months after. From XE till XZ, Tata has raised the Altroz’ price by Rs 15,000 while the top-spec XZ(O) only gets a hike of Rs 6,000. Here are the updated variant-wise prices:

The petrol option for the Altroz is Tata’s 1.2-litre unit that produces 86PS and 113Nm while the 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 90PS and 200Nm. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual and the Altroz doesn’t get any automatic transmission option at the moment.

It is fairly well-equipped with features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster with 7.0-inch TFT display, auto AC, cruise control, and auto headlamps. The Altroz doesn’t get any segment leading safety tech but it did score a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash tests.

Tata’s premium hatch will continue to rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Glanza and the upcoming Honda Jazz facelift.
