The Altroz will be unveiled to the world today evening followed by a January 2020 launch.

It is Tata’s first-ever premium hatchback and will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Toyota Glanza.

Tata will offer three engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel.

Expect it to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh and 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
The first ever premium hatchback offering from Tata, the Altroz, is all set to be unveiled today. While Tata will officially open the order books for the Altroz tomorrow, some dealers have already started accepting pre-launch bookings.
Tata rolled out the first Altroz from its Pune plant a week ago. While the homegrown carmaker initially wanted to launch it in mid-2019, it postponed the plans seeing the automotive industry’s slowdown. Tata later announced that the Altroz will be launched in January 2020.
Tata will offer the Altroz with three BS6-compliant engines: a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.2-litre petrol will come from the Tiago and the Tigor, while the 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units, both detuned, will come from the Nexon.

The Altroz will be offered with a dual-tone interior, a floating 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a semi-digital instrument cluster like the Tata Harrier. Cruise control and ambient lighting are also part of the features list.
