Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) seems to have encountered a strange problem, yet again. This time, it has happened with its luxury arm – Maserati. A total of 13,092 Quattroporte and Ghibli luxury cars (2014 make) are being recalled in the US over faulty gear-shift lever. The cars are at a risk of rolling away despite the drivers engaging ‘park’ mode.

These details surfaced online after documents related to the issue were posted on a Government website. This is not the first time that FCA has faced such an issue. In fact, the last recall of 1.1 million cars in April, 2016 which included the Dodge Charger, the Chrysler 300 sedans and even the 2014-15 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs caused a havoc on the American streets. This recall was associated with 41 injuries, 212 crashes and 308 reports of property damage which led the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to open an investigation regarding the same.

However, Maserati North America has remained tight-lipped about the same and have denied having knowledge of any fatalities or crashes associated with the current issue.  After sensing trouble ahead, the manufacturer has gone ahead and recalled 13,092 cars. The company is investigating the matter and trying to find a solution.
