Maserati is known for their super stylish Italian creations, initially started in 1914 and since 1993, owned by another Italian giant Fiat. There have been speculations that Maserati will soon expand their range and bring in a new crossover, previewed by Kubang Concept along with a sedan which will be smaller than the Quattroporte.

For the very first time, spy pictures for mule has surfaced for the executive sport sedan, close to its final stages of development.  The production model might be termed as the ‘Levante’ and is expected to appear by the end of 2013. The engine is likely to include the V6 force-fed and V8 engines, mated to 8-speed automatic transmission with Rear Wheel-Drive. 

The 2013 Maserati sedan is expected to compete with the Audi A7, Mercedes-Benz CLS, Jaguar XF, Mercedes-Benz E-Class etc. Maserati Quattroporte currently is priced between Rs. 1.32 Crore and Rs. 1.42 Crore, ex showroom, New Delhi.

In 1997, Fiat had sold a 50% share of Maserati to Ferrari and in 1999, Ferrari tool complete control and made it its luxury division. Ferrari is also a sister company to Fiat group under the Fiat Auto banner. In fact Ferrari has said to have played a major role in bringing Maserati out of the bankruptcy and back in business. Maserati began selling its products in 2002 in U.S.A and also re-entered the racing tracks with Trofeo. The Maserati MC12, developed according to FIA GT regulations in 2003, has won team championships for 3 consecutive times from 2005-2007.
