Maruti Fronx has achieved a production milestone of 5 lakh total units since its launch back in April 2023. The Fronx has been in production for 28 months and has become a popular choice among buyers in the sub-4 metre segment. It is also the first model from the Indian carmaker to be exported to Japan and has since remained one of the highest exported cars from India. Let’s take a look at the key details of the Maruti Fronx:
Maruti Fronx: An Overview

The Maruti Fronx was introduced in April 2023 as a sub-4m crossover under Maruti’s Nexa lineup. It shares its platform with the Maruti Baleno but gets an SUV-inspired design.

In terms of features, the Fronx packs in a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker Arkamys-tuned sound system, auto AC with rear vents, a wireless phone charger, paddle shifters, cruise control, front footwell lighting and a head-up display (HUD).
For safety, the Fronx now includes six airbags (as standard), besides features like a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, rear defogger and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

It is offered with two petrol engine options: a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder unit producing 90 PS and 113 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, and a 1-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol making 100 PS and 148 Nm, available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
There’s also a CNG option with the 1.2-litre engine, producing a reduced 77.5 PS and 98.5 Nm, offered only with the 5-speed manual.
Maruti Fronx: Price & Rivals

The Maruti Fronx is priced between Rs 7.59 lakh and Rs 13.11 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a sub-4m crossover and rivals the Toyota Taisor. It can also be considered as a formidable alternative to sub-4 metre SUVs like Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Kia Syros, and Skoda Kylaq.
